Festival of the Kings

Festival of the Kings

In RE in Class 3 today we celebrated the Spanish festival of the kings- El dia de los Magos!

We decorated cakes to look like crowns and hid a ‘baby’ inside, danced to a traditional song and our shoes were filled with sweets.

Spanish people mark the Three Kings arrival in Bethlehem and the discovery of the baby Jesus with this festival on the 6th of January.

Class 7 have been putting together Superhero dance routines in PE. Class 7 have been learning about skeletons, why they are important and thinking about the Big Question - What if bones were bendy? The children have also learned about vertebrate and invertebrate animals. A busy lesson finished with constructing their own skeletons and labelling some of the bones! Year 4 had to try and turn theirs into a dancing skeleton!

Class 6 had an exciting start to our Stone Age topic. The children arrived in the classroom to find a cave filled with cave paintings and hunting weapons. It was fun investigating the things they found and sharing their ideas about a mysterious character called Stig.
