Class 10 and 11
Class 10 and 11 are taught by Georgina Berry and Robert Horne. Year 6 are also taught by: Naomi Harrison on Monday afternoons, Andrea Miller and Julie Turner on a Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and Emma Smith on Thursday afternoons. Louise Hickey, Donna Woods and Lisa Newell also make up part of our year 6 team. Each afternoon, all the children are participating in our Covid Catch up learning programme which is taught by Georgina Berry.
Please can you ensure that your child has their school reading book in school every day so that they can continue to read a variety of genres. Children are free to change their reading books when they wish. Bug Club is also a fantastic resource which all children can access in school and at home to support their reading.
Your child has been given a blue password folder which contains all log in and password details for a wide range of online websites and resources that we use in school. These include Spelling Shed, MyMaths and TT Rockstars which also form part of weekly homework. Please ensure this comes into school daily so your child can use it when necessary.
Our PE day is a Monday. The children may come to school in their PE kit and wear it for the whole day. Please make sure they also have a named school jumper or cardigan in addition to a coat.
Year 6 will be going swimming each Friday afternoon at Brinscall baths, running from September up until February half term. Please ensure your child comes to school with their swimming kit.
Spellings are set on Friday and tested the following Friday. Please continue to support your child in learning them at home and encouraging them to practise them on Spelling Shed.
Please support your child in learning their times table up to 12 x 12. Some of the websites we use in class are Top Marks https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button and the BBC Super Movers website https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/ks2-maths-collection/z7frpg8. Also, please encourage your child to continue using TT Rockstars. Spelling shed is also a brilliant resource that we utilise in class and which can be accessed from home.
Homework consists of a half termly Homework Menu, where your child can choose from a selection of suggested tasks, alongside the compulsory English, Maths, RE and Science tasks which are related to the topic being taught.
