Class 7 is taught by Angela Makepeace and is supported by Andrea Miller every morning. Naomi Harrison also teaches the class on a Friday morning.
Your child has been given a blue password folder which contains all log in and password details for a wide range of online websites and resources that we use in school. These include Spelling Shed, MyMaths and TT Rockstars which also form part of weekly homework. Please ensure this comes into school daily so your child can use it when necessary.
Our PE day is currently on a Tuesday afternoon but this can change. Please check Class 7’s Seesaw and the school Facebook page for any changes at the start of each half term. Children can wear their school PE kit when it is PE day. Please ensure that your child continues to bring in a school jumper or cardigan and a coat for break and lunch time.
This year, all children in Class 7 will learn how to play the ukulele on a Thursday afternoon by Michael Woodward from Lancashire Music Services. Please ensure your child brings in their ukulele each Thursday.
Spellings are sent home each Friday and tested the following Friday morning. These are also available to practise on Spelling Shed at home. Please continue to support your child in learning them.
Times table knowledge and the recall of these facts is important. In class, we use resources including Hit the Button https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button and BBC Supermovers https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/times-table-collection/z4vv6v4 which they children really enjoy. By the end of Year 4, it is expected that all children will know their times tables up to 12 x 12. Your continued support with this is greatly appreciated.
Homework consists of a half termly Homework Menu, where your child can select from a range of suggested activities which supports the learning taking place in school. All English, Maths and one RE task must be completed alongside any other 2 activities. We celebrate all homework on one afternoon at the end of each half term.
