Class 8

Class 8 is taught by Tom Norris. Class 8 are also joined by associate teacher Lisa Towers along with Julie Hurst on a Wednesday Afternoon, Johnny Robinson on a Thursday afternoon and Julie Turner on a Friday afternoon.

Please can you ensure that your child has their school reading book in school every day so that they can continue to read a variety of genres. Children are free to change their reading books when they wish. Bug Club is also a fantastic resource which all children can access in school and at home to support their reading.

Your child has been given a blue password folder which contains all log in and password details for a wide range of online websites and resources that we use in school. These include Spelling Shed, MyMaths and TT Rockstars which also form part of weekly homework. Please ensure this comes into school daily so your child can use it when necessary.

Our PE day is Thursday afternoon. Currently, the children may come to school in their PE kit and wear it for the whole day. Please make sure they also have a named school jumper or cardigan in addition to a coat.

The children will learn the ukulele this year, taught by Mr Woodward which will also be on a Thursday afternoon. Please ensure your child brings in their instrument and music  each week.

Spellings are set on Friday and tested on the following Thursday. Please continue to support your child in learning them.

Please support your child in learning their times table up to 12 x 12. Some of the websites we use in class are Top Marks and the BBC Super Movers website Spelling shed is also a brilliant resource that we utilise in class and which can be accessed from home.

Homework consists of a half termly Homework Menu, where your child can choose from a selection of suggested tasks, alongside the compulsory English, Maths, RE and Science tasks which are related to the topic being taught.
