As you will have seen in the news one teaching union has voted to take industrial action. Whilst as yet I am unable to make any firm promises, I can confirm, for the main part, school will be open. As yet I am unable to confirm if all classes will be educated in the way you expect.

On this occasion I can confirm all junior classes will be open, and will receive their normal education - that's classes 6 - 11 inclusive.

Industrial action by definition is disrupted, and inconvenient..... bear with me for now, and I'll let you know what i know as soon as I can.

I will meet with Infant staff this week, and if i'm able to will let you know more details next Friday.

I appear to have made a faux pas. I mentioned on last weeks newsletter about Runshaw doing maths courses. I misinterpreted the email, wrongly thinking it was held at Runshaw. It's not! It's school based, school specific! I'll liaise with Runshaw, and chat to Emma, our Maths lead, about how else we can halo you!

Sorry about that. Sorry to you, and to Mark!

The Young Voices Concert  Manchester Arena, Monday 30th January at 7pm. The children taking part will travel by coach to Manchester Arena. The coach will leave school after lunch and is scheduled to leave Manchester at around 9.30pm after the concert has finished. Traffic permitting they should arrive back at school by 10.30pm  to be collected by parents/grandparents. I’ll keep you posted via Facebook. Anyone who didn't order tickets through school, and still wants them must now order them directly through Manchester Arena.

Dress Code—Kids will change in school. Come to school in normal uniform. Children will change into a white t shirt, provided by school, and will wear normal school trousers/skirt etc. Please can you wash and return the t shirt before half term.

No hats/ flashing headbands!

For those of you going to Young Voices a medical form has been sent home …. Please return this as soon as possible, and certainly by Wednesday 25th January.

Kids— on the day bring

Packed ‘tea’ in a disposable bag please. No glass bottles.

How about if all the choir had a school meal for lunch? That way they’re having a hot meal during the day? This is available to order— just return the form sent home yesterday, if you don’t, don’t, but bring a packed lunch as well please!

We will bring the kids back to school on the coach—and they will be dismissed from the promenade door onto the Junior yard…. Look, it could get late! Sorry about that, it’s best you know now, to avoid a rise in stress levels!

Choir can come into school anytime upto 10:30am on Tuesday 31st.

(And kids, please don't be tempted to bring anything valuable like phones.... it's a busy enough trip as it is!)

+ + CONFIRMATION + +

This year our confirmation service will take place on Thursday 6th July with +Philip. If your child would like to consider being confirmed please let John Bradley know, and if you’re an adult please speak to Fr Mike. We will need to see you Baptism Certificates and you will need to attend a course after Easter.

Attached is the form they need to fill in.

Yours,

M
