Good morning/afternoon/evening to you all. I hope that you are all well ðŸ˜Š. May i begin by wishing you all a peaceful Easter, an Easter where we sit back and accept that the passion of Christ didn't last for every, and that the death of loved ones, no matter in which circumstances isn't the end. Our loved ones will not only rest in Peace, but will Rise in Glory, and that everything, indeed whether Positive or Negative is transient. Take care of yourselves,

Additionally, as we enter Ramadan, may I also wish all those observing, the blessings of the holy month and may this Ramadan bring blessings for you and your family.

I think it is in 2033 when Eid, and Christmas will be on the same day - now that will be a great Party day!

For now though folks, my thanks to you all, and may I wish you a most peaceful Easter.  Andy

Every school has an advisor - ours is Lynsey Austin, former senior advisor for Lancashire, who now leads here own company. She visits us 7 times a year, auditing the school, monitoring standards, and checking policy and procedure etc. As an authority however, Lancashire still come and see us once a year - a spot check in many ways, reassuring for you as parents and carers, as well as for us as staff to check what were doing, and indeed the work of Lynsey, is further externally, and independently validated. Aby Hardy,  Head of Education Improvement came to see yesterday, and she was so impressed with what she saw. She spoke to me, other members of the SLT, Fr David, our own school advisor, staff and kids and really couldn't fault us. She was full of praise for the curriculum, the kids work and behaviour and the school environment. It was a very positive, enjoyable visit, and what a great message to give to staff to kick start their Easter Break. Lovely news.

Dragon FM

For a while now, Rob has run the radio club, Dragon FM, and it really has now started to take hold; the kids, and indeed staff, love it. Rob now has the ability to put the whole show on Spotify for you to follow, and listen to. It really is amazing.

We do have a podcast site now. Search for Dragon FM St George's, and you will find it on Spotify. Follow us for updates and weekly episodes!

They're good fun!

It is right and proper to thank and acknowledge Chris Beesley, and Paul K for their phenomenal support not only of the school, but for their help in installing the Radio Station and getting it off the ground. They are remarkable!

On the the matter of clubs, we continue to work in the school, with some impact before summer but with most impact summer. However, let me reach out to you- do you have a penchant, interest or skill that you could share with the kids. If you have, and you are willing to lead a club for a 6 week stint witha  few kids, please get in touch so we can begin the organisation.

This is interesting, and from my experience, if I may say so quite unusual! I had this email last week - it's worth sharing:

Good Morning

I am contacting you from Jones Dental Practice in Chorley, for a short period of time we have some limited availability to offer dental care to children at our practice ending on the 3103/2023

I would be grateful if you could please inform parents of our availability and ask them to call the practice on 01257 260022 and we will be happy to offer them appointments

Many thanks

Kind Regards

Suzanne Worsick

Practice Manager

The Easter story, upon us quite pacely will hopefully bring a welcome break from the hamster wheel of life. The season brings many challenges to us relating to faith and the attitudes with which we face our lives. Perhaps one or two of you are ‘mature’ enough to remember a Pepsi ad’ with the tag line; ‘Come Alive with Pepsi!’ Apparently when translated into Chinese the interpretation comes out as ‘Pepsi brings your ancestors back from the dead!’ I wonder how the people in Beijing, passing the billboards with this ad’ on, reacted? Presumably, they had to decide whether the claim was true or not.

How many of us have learnt the hard way that it’s impossible to eat 6 cream crackers in a minute with no water. Some things that seem possible are impossible and, likewise, some things that seem impossible are possible, but unless we witness them first hand we have to decide whether to have the faith in what we’re told about them. Over Easter we celebrate the belief that Jesus died and rose from the dead (without the aid of Pepsi!). Over two billion people on our planet choose to believe this, despite the fact that none of them were there at the time. How far we each believe is our choice… but if we do have faith in the resurrection of Christ, what does it mean for the way we live our lives?

Back to Pepsi… if a Pepsi bottle is full to the half-way point is it half-full or half-empty? Of course, it depends on how you look at it. This is a good image, I think, for how people look at life, and is a recurring theme in many a newsletter: some focus on all the things that are going wrong and wake each day with a sense of dread, while others focus on the things that are going right and give thanks for the things that they are grateful for. It was like this for the characters in the Easter story; as the disciples and followers of Jesus lost hope and saw their world crashing down around them only Jesus could see the positive side of events as they unfolded. He faced his death with serenity because he knew that his suffering was part of a bigger plan and that he would rise again.

We believe that on the first Easter Sunday, Jesus rose again. He came back to life, defying the expectations of his friends and his enemies. We also believe that that in this event good overcame evil, life is stronger than death, light shines through the darkness and the half-full bottle is superior to the half-empty bottle.

And that’s the challenge for us: if we believe in the resurrection we need to take the half-full approach to life. Life undoubtedly has its challenges for each and every one of us but with a belief that the bottle is at least half-full we can tackle those challenges head on and overcome them.

At St George’s, and indeed at Mossy, the Easter story provides us with the hope and inspiration to take a half-full approach to the teaching of your/our children.

I wish you all the love, hope and inspiration of the season…. And may I conclude firstly by quoting with the ancient wisdom of Psalm 121; when faced with a mountain to climb the Psalmist turns to God in prayer: "I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." and of course,  by reminding you that….. Other Colas are available.
