This week representatives from our Eco Club were invited by the Friends of Astley Park to build a bug hotel. They collected a range of materials from the school grounds and took them to Astley. They created a lovely home for the many minibeasts at the park. Thank you to the volunteers who made us so welcome! If you visit Astley over half term, try to find the St George's Bug Hotel.

Today our Year 6 children who have been taking part in the Fantastic Book Awards club went along to the awards at UCLAN. The children had a brilliant morning celebrating their achievement and finding out which book was voted the winner! Well done to all those children who took part in the Fantastic Book  Awards!

The PTFA need your help! It’s becoming harder for us to source raffle prizes for our school fair in the current climate and there are limited members of the PTFA! If anybody works for a company or knows anybody who could donate prizes to our raffle for the school summer fair we would be very grateful. We have a headed letter from school if needed ?? please either message Laura Thomas via the facebook account, or call into school. Thank you very much ??

How lovely to see the kids in the tea party yesterday. As you know we offer leaves to all kids, with the focus being those kids who consistently perform, and whose impeccable behaviour, tremendous attitudes and consist effort can, if we're not careful be taken for granted. Well done to all those children who have been given a leaf this half term!

I popped myself on a course this week, Team Teach, deescalation and manual handling - it was really good. They shared this website which is a free resource which has a plethora of resources for parents to use. The site, my family course, has powerpoint, podcasts, webinars on a whole range of family difficulties that may come your way, and is completely free. It's well worth a look.

Many thanks for your support, banter, understanding and team work over the last half term. Have a great, well deserved holiday, and don't forget we are not back until Wednesday 7th June - We have a couple of INSET days; one for staff training, one for report writing.

All the best, Andy
