RE Parent Questionnaire

Anne Fothergill has put together a RE Questionairre for parents of St. George's School. Please, if you find a moment, click on the link below or scan the QR Code to complete the short activity. We are always aiming to improve our school and our practice. These contributions from the school community help massively. Thank you!

Can you help with the ducks?

We are very blessed to have five gorgeous Egyptian Runner Ducks who live at the back of school in a lovely enclosure. From September the kids at school are going to play a big part in managing their upkeep and feeding.

As a result, through term time weekdays the ducks are completely looked after and bob on... However, come weekends and over school holidays we are seeking volunteers to come to school and assist with their upkeep. It's a lovely place and they are very domesticated for want of a better word...

If you are interested in volunteering and joining a group of other generous volunteers in the duck's upkeep please email our Eco Council Leader, Katy Blackledge, on k.blackledge@st-georges.lancs.sch.uk with details of your availability (she will add you to the Duck Whatsapp care group).

Gardening help

In a similar tone to our Duck request, we are in need of volunteers to tend to some of our outdoor spaces. If you have any availability, skills, a passion for or experience with gardening, please do reach out and get in touch as there are lots of discrete spaces around the school grounds that can be used, in essence as allotments for you. It would be lovely to see crops being sewn and harvested over the school year!

Sports Days

Thank you for your understanding Tuesday's Infant Sports Day re-arrangement. We will go again on Tuesday 4th July at Albany, once again, weather permitting. We will let you know as soon as possible if there is a need to cancel the event due to poor weather!

The Junior Sports Day which took place on Thursday was superb. Thank you to all those who were able to make it over to Albany and thank you so much for your understanding and acceptance of the less than ideal access arrangements. The children were absolutely brilliant in their compassion and competitiveness and the scores were so very close!  Well done Blue Team! We are very excited to see how the infant scores affect the totals and we will be able to announce the overall winning colour team after Tuesday!

Summer Fair Volunteers please

We have the Summer Fair taking place this coming Monday 3rd July. We are confident that the PTFA and school volunteers will put on a mightily good event however, we are looking for volunteers on the day to help with stall set-up and activities. If you have any spare time on Monday, email Sharon Kellie on bursar@st-georges.lancs.sch.uk who will give you details over the weekend. We require ten volunteers please!
