I must confess, I'm really enjoying strictly this season - it can be hit and miss with me to be honest, but this year is great.

Picture St George's as an episode of 'Strictly Come Dancing,' where every day is a dance floor, and each kid is a unique dancer ready to shine. In this show called 'Education,' your, the parents and carers are the choreographers, and choose which dance school you want your children to go to,  the staff at school are the dance partners, nurturing, developing and holding the kids as they learn, and the kids themselves are the stars of the stage.

Just like the contestants on 'Strictly,' each child brings their own style and flair to our school's performance. Every step they take is a chance to learn and grow, to waltz through challenges, and to cha-cha-cha towards success.

As we continue this educational journey, let's celebrate the joy of learning, the rhythm of progress, and the harmony of collaboration. Like the judges on the show, arguably OFTSED, let's appreciate the dedication and talent that each child and teacher brings to the dance floor of education.

Thank you for being a part of this extraordinary 'Strictly Come Learning' experience.

Warm regards,

ADMISSIONS FROM 2024?

Are you joining us from September 2024. Please click here for all the information you needs regarding admissions.

Folks, I had a lovely email from a school family...

James, one of our DFP's, whose brothers are still at George's, is taking part in a Mission Direct project with St Michael's next year and is going out to Zambia to help build a toilet block with a school in Lusaka - this is amazing, and similar to our Kenyan project many years ago now. As a team they are fundraising and James and his friend Edward are walking the 30 miles from Blackpool Tower to St Michaels Chorley in a single day last Saturday as a challenge fundraiser. They have been trying to raise the profile of this walk to gain sponsorship from as many areas as they can for their project. Now, alas, this should have been on last weeks newsletter, but we can still raise funds, and the profile of the walk; we just can't say "good luck" rather "well done!"

However, click here for the link to the Just Giving page that has been set up via St Michael's and explains more about the project as a whole and the walk.

If anyone is in a position to consider adding a couple of pounds to their pot, or just dropping him a note of congratulations for their walk, then I'm sure that will spur him on for future challenges! I appreciate this may not be possible though!

"James, sorry i'm a little late to the party for this, but can I say not only sorry for being late, but well done for doing this. You've known me for 10 years or so James now, thrashed me on TTRS, know how much I value helping others, and how much I admire those who do the same - so well done James, and your crew... keep me posted with how the project goes...." Mr P

Author Visit

On Tuesday 21st, St. George's welcomed five other schools and Rachel Morrisroe into the school. Rachel has just released her newest book, 'The Robin Who stole Christmas'. She spoke to the kids for over an hour and was really inspirational. We work closely with Ebb and Flo bookstore in Chorley to organise these events because they are a great little local bookstore and have some fabulous author visits. If you have spare time on the weekend, it really is a great place to visit-  they've got tonnes of signed copies in the store!

Dragon FM

We're well and truly up and running once again with the Dragon FM Radio Club. The DJs are meeting up each Monday night and recording content for the week ahead. The shows feature leaderboard announcements for TT Rockstars, Spellingshed and teampoints; news from across the school, world news, music and discussions around topical issues.

We also jump on every opportunity to interview special guests to the school- see Monday 20th's broadcast if you want to hear Rachel Morrisroe talking about her childhood and her journey into becoming a published author.

Please, show your support by scanning the QR Code to the right of this, following the show and tuning in to the amazing broadcasts, put together by the kids! It really is awesome

A couple of bullet points

We have one or two cases of headlice around school at the moment. Click here please to be taken to NHS website for how to rid your child of said lice.

Have a lovely weekend everyone; take care - of yourselves, and of others.
