As we gather our thoughts in the third week of Advent, we are reminded, now more than ever, that a miracle is brightest when it's dark. In a world where challenges, both personal, national, and global, often seem overwhelming, this season offers us a beacon of hope and a reminder of resilience.

The current struggles we face, from personal hardships to the homeless, those who are sick at this time, larger global issues, can sometimes cast a shadow over our daily lives. Yet, it is in these darkest hours that the potential for miracles shines the brightest. The birth of Jesus, in the most humble and challenging circumstances, symbolises the light of hope breaking through the darkness, offering a profound lesson for us all: In adversity lies the seed of transformation and renewal.

This message of hope is especially poignant as I share with you my last newsletter of the year. Reflecting on our journey together, I am filled with immense gratitude for the strength, compassion, and unity our school community has shown. Your support, dedication, and the countless small miracles you create every day have been a source of inspiration.

As we approach the festive season, let's carry with us the enduring message of Advent: a miracle is brightest when it's dark. May this thought guide us, offering solace and strength, and may the miracle of Christmas fill your hearts and homes with joy, peace, and love.

Thank you for the privilege of being a part of this wonderful community. My heart is full of gratitude for the memories we've shared and the lessons we've learned together. I extend to you all my deepest seasonal blessings and best wishes for a bright and hopeful future.

With heartfelt thanks and warmest wishes,

Andy

Christmas Fair.

Once again, the Christmas Fair was a resounding success. A massive thanks to all the PTFA who really pulled together and worked tirelessly to make this happen. Thank you so very much indeed.

They really were busy bees, at a time when they’re also busy at work, and at home. Thank you. Everyone. The atmosphere was fantastic and I’m sure that you will agree it was a great way to kick off the festive season! On behalf of the PTFA and all the staff here at school, I would like to take this opportunity to also thank you for all your support. Without this, such a successful and enjoyable evening would not be possible. The grand total raised was just shy of £3800 – superb!

The message of closing the old, and entering the new is particularly pertinent to a coupl eof memebrs of our staff. Rachel Smith gets married on New Years Eve, returning with a surname that really writes itself for banter - Fell. After Christmas, Rachel returns to us as Mrs Fell.

Although not my announcement by any means, all the staff are excited about the continuing baby boom amongst our staff - Katy and her partner Eck have announced to staff that they are expecting their 1st baby. So we'll watch Katy bloom next year, before she leaves us around June time.

After school sports clubs have now finished for this half term. It is getting too dark at the end of the session when outside and the hall is being used to set up for the nativity/carol performances throughout this week. We hope those involved have enjoyed clubs this half term. We will be sending out messages soon about clubs for next half term. (Thanks Jenny for all the clubs this term - theres be loads!)

Fr David's Sabbatical Adventure

We are both excited and a little wistful to announce that Fr David,  Chair of Governors, will be embarking on a well-deserved sabbatical, starting in the new year. Fr David has been an integral part of our school community, offering guidance, wisdom, and an unwavering dedication to the wellbeing and education of the kids and staff. His sabbatical journey takes him to the beautiful and historic city of Assisi in Italy, the birthplace of St. Francis. This retreat will not only offer him a chance for rest and rejuvenation but also an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of one of history's most revered saints, exploring the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of the area. We eagerly anticipate the fresh perspectives and inspiring stories he will bring back to us. During his three-month leave, we wish Fr David a journey filled with peace, enlightenment, and joy. We look forward to welcoming him back with open arms, ready to hear all about his adventures in Assisi. Fr Mike, Dr Gibson, Mr Pollard and Ruth Woods will be fulfilling the role of Chair of Governors in David's absence.
