The teaching line up for next year!

(We will text out classes to you in the next couple of weeks)

I am absolutely delighted with the teaching line up for next year—full of talent, enthusiasm and passion! I think it's amazing, and I have very high hopes for next year. I'm so proud of all the staff you know - so proud of them.

We’ll hopefully have a lot of laughs, make a few mistakes of course, but get most things spot on to the benefit of all, enjoy ourselves and thrive.

Dear Parents,

I would like to address an important matter regarding parking near the school, particularly opposite Telent. One of our neighbours on Little Carr Lane has brought to my attention a concern about vehicles being parked at the bottom of residential driveways, as depicted in the attached photograph sent to me. This not only causes inconvenience but also disregards the purpose of the yellow lines, which are there to ensure safety and accessibility for all.

Although these restrictions are not always actively enforced, they are crucial for maintaining a considerate and orderly environment. I urge everyone to be more mindful and avoid obstructing driveways, even for short periods.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

FROM THE PTFA - IS THIS YOUR THING!!?? TEATOWELS!? ITS A NEW IDEA, BROUGHT BY NEW MEMBERS OF THE PTFA, AND IT LOOKS LOVELY. WHAT A GREAT IDEA, I MUST CONFESS I REMEMBER MY MUM AND DAD GETTING ONE, MANY YEARS AGO NOW.

Order forms will be coming home this week for our Personalised Year Group Tea Towels. When ordering the tea towels, your child’s picture will be the centre picture, so if ordering for more than one child please do it under each child’s name.

There are also other lovely gifts available to order such as tote bags, mugs and coasters.

Closing date for ordering will be 19th June.

As well as being a lovely keepsake, the school benefits from every purchase made so Thank you in advance for your support!

SUMMER FAIR ------------It’s that time of year again!

A lot of work, a lot of fun and a lot of funds raised!

In the run up to the Summer Fair (Monday 8th July) we have 3 non-uniform Fridays planned—21st June, 28th June and 5th July. In return for the children coming in their own clothes we ask for contributions for the school fair.

For those of you new to the school, it runs like the Christmas Fair; we do not charge any money for the days, but ask if you would mind supplying us with bottles, clean re-useable, or new soft toys, books, games, chocolates, toiletries, or any prizes that can be used for the tombola stall.

There will be details shortly of how you can help both in the run up and on the evening itself.

The PTFA are great - to be honest I've worked with some wonderful PTFAs, including the current one. I remember fondly the 1st PTFA I worked with at St George's, very different to our current one, but equally lovely.

Some members of our current PTFA will be looking at leaving us after this Fair, so I really would welcome a fresh, new group of people who are willing to work with school to lead the PTFA. You can bring your own ideas, your own skill set and do it your way.... there's no need to follow in the footsteps of the current PTFA. So, if you're interested in finding out more, then come and meet the PTFA, in the new year, and help take it in your direction.

Dear parents/guardians,

We are very excited to tell you that children’s author & illustrator Sarah Bowie will be visiting St George’s on Thursday 20th June to talk to KS2 about her brand new book Nina Peanut is Amazing.

A brief synopsis of the book:

Nina Peanut - super-star in the making, frozen pizza chef, creative genius, owner of the world's stinkiest cat.  Nina Peanut creates amazing videos - so why is it only her nan and best friend Brian who watch them? Surely everyone should be interested in her SERIOUS and NOT-STUPID videos about potatoes with faces?  Nina dreams about being as popular as class queen bee Megan Dunne, who films NOT AMAZING AT ALL content of her pampered dog, Princess Trixie Bell.
So when Nina's stinky cat Les wanders into one of Megan's videos by accident, and goes viral, Nina and Les are suddenly internet famous!  But is overnight stardom as wonderful as Nina always imagined it would be?  Hilariously funny, with themes of friendship/frenemies, big dreams, brilliant pets: hours and hours of reading fun guaranteed for kids.

Warm, offbeat wit and gorgeous, bright full colour pictures throughout. Perfect for fans of Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries and Lottie Brooks.

Join us as we come together with churches across Chorley, for the Walk of Witness (Walking Day) on Sunday 23rd June.

Meeting at 12pm on Cunliffe Street, we invite you all to join us as we walk with fellow Christians through Chorley Town centre towards Astley Park.

Once reaching the park, there will be live music, brass bands, bouncy castle, a joint service and please bring your picnic!

All are welcome

Hey kids! We have an exciting opportunity coming up with our annual Walking Day, and we’d love for as many of you as possible to join us. I know walking might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but as a church school, it’s a wonderful way to show our unity and spirit. Put on your school uniform, confirmation clothes, or your best outfit from your uniformed organizations, and come walk with us. Let's make it a fun, memorable day filled with pride and community spirit. We can't wait to see you there! Mr P

Have a wonderful weekend folks, take it easy, Andy
