Harvest

On Thursday 21st October at 9am Class 6 will be leading worship on the MUGA if weather permits. We would like to invite parents of Class 6 to join us on the MUGA, as we share what we have learnt on how Harvest is celebrated. If restrictions change or it is pouring with rain we will zoom the worship and put the code on Facebook, so you can follow along at home. Parents, if you are joining us please either bring your own chair, with curved, protected legs so that they don't puncture the muga, a beach chair for example, or if unlike me you're fit and agile, a rug and the floor, festival style is lovely. We will pop a few benches out as well.

We would like the whole school to get involved and help us collect for the Storehouse Food Bank at Living Waters Church. The most helpful items at present are biscuits, shower gel, hot dogs, tinned meat, curry sauce, rice and tinned potatoes. However, any donation will be gratefully received. You can put your donation in the shopping trolley on the junior or infant yard from the 18th to the 21st October.

On 22nd October some of the Class 6 children will be delivering the food to the food bank, please let a member of SLT know if you do not wish your child to take part.

Reporting PCR test results
The systems for isolating and managing cases of COVID in school do appear to be working. Disruption is much less than under previous guidance. To help us to try and keep cases as low as possible please use the QR code above, or click on this link to report your child's PCR results to school. Ple...

School Meals.

Food shortages have really hit us now. On the one hand don't worry, all children will be fed. There is a simplified menu offered from the catering services which is just soup and a choice of sandwich, as well as dessert etc. Leanne, who is back with us will also be offer alternative hot meals, getting as close as she can to the menu.

Please continue to order as you have been doing, using SCO pay, and we'll make any adjustments in school with the kids.

The alternative menu has been offered initially for 3 weeks.... let's see what happens. It's a bit bumpy, not idea, but manageable I guess - tap into those resilience tanks kids, and don't underestimate your ability to cope.

Let me know how it's going kids. Mr P

Can you help us to help you?

Attached to this newsletter is an annual form that enables school to claim extra money for certain situations. We use this money to fund additional staff, for example the Therapist.

Please ensure that if you haven't already done so you fill in the attached form, and return it to school by Friday 8th October, so that we can update our records.

The additional funds make a huge difference to the school.

Its back, and for those of you in reception, and year 1, it's new....

It's class call in!

I hope you are looking forward to class call in next Thursday 14th October, and I hope it’s on the web cal - if not please email our web cal manager, Simon Newall.

Classrooms will be open next Thursday, from 3.30pm-4.30pm for you to come into school, just to have a look round…. This is not a parents’ evening, but an opportunity for your child to show you what they are proud of around school, and in their books! Let your child lead you through their work and do the talking!  Just call in for as long as you like… I hope to see you there!

It is a very busy hour in school and needs to be organised! Please indulge us.

Can all parents remain on the yard until staff indicate school is clear, and we know that all children have been dismissed safely.

Classes 1 & 2. Enter and leave through the reception door. Louise or Siobhan will be there to indicate when you can come in, which is around 3:30pm

Class 3 & 11 —Enter and leave through your own door from the Infant Playground

Children in classes 4 – 6 (inclusive) please enter and leave through your own classroom door! (I don’t know why we didn’t do that last year—it sounds very simple!) Class teachers will be on hand to give you the signal to enter.

Children in classes 7 – 10 should enter and leave up the junior slope, Thomas will be there to indicate when you can enter.

Please, I beg, be patient, and avoid ‘blocking’ the exits, despite your natural enthusiasm to get in! Teachers are not being awkward—they're waiting for me to say that parents can come in, and I will only do that once Late Stay are sorted. The priority is to ensure that all children have been safely handed over to their accompanying adult, and this takes time.

Please supervise your children closely during the time you are in school!

Thanks for your co-operation in all these matters; I hope you enjoy the call in!

If you are joining us for class call in please:

Do an LFD test 24 hours before the class call in.

Please wear a mask. You may not come in school without a mask, or if exempt, a visa.

Ukulele Club

Calling Year 5s! Did you enjoy ukulele last year? Would you like to carry on honing your skills? Well, we have great news as Mr Woodward is going to do an after school club on Thursdays. If you’d like to carry on the fun, and develop as a musician, sign up on SCOPay! The club is due to start after half term commending on Thursday 4th November.
