Young Voices - what a morale booster! It really is an amazing experience. Choir is open to year 4, 5, and 6, and you sign up now via SCOpay - there are still places available.

The concert is on the 7th February, and Siobhan will write to you with more details nearer the time, for now though it is a good idea to oder your tickets. In the 1st instance this is done through the app, and school will order them for you. Tickets are £20.00 each, so if you want 3, credit you SCOpay with £60.00, if you want 1, credit the account with £20.00. The deadline for ordering tickets through school is Thursday 21st October, after which tickets can't be ordered through school, you will need to order yourself directly through the arena, and they are priced around £25.00.

It really is a magnificent night, great fun and an unparalleled experience, to be able to say " I sang at the M.E.N.... but will kids still call it that? Who knows!

Any further questions please email Siobhan

Working together, we have all agreed that most of the money raised by the PTFA will go to getting us a pond! Click here to be taken to more information on the Website

Pond is due to be installed 1st to 4th march.

Cost quoted at  £3400 from lancashire wildlife trust.

As part of this we will have: Wildlife Pond area (3m x 4m)
-    Pond with sloped profile, lined high quality 1mm edpm liner
-    Planted with native aquatic plants and marginal plant species to attract wildlife and establish pond habitat
-    Spoil from hole used to landscape bank around pond and to infill pond with sedimentary layer
-    Pond area fenced in with palisade fencing and lockable gate (clasps and padlocks provided)
-    Decked dipping platform

A few Quickies

Having consulted, we will offer a choice for parents evening, both face to face and zoom. Tuesday the 16th will be face to face, whilst Wednesday the 17th will be zoom. It seems a decent compromise to try and accommodate everyones needs. Obvioulsy the problem will be if, for example, all the zoom ones are taken, and only face to face are left..... if you find this insurmountable then please contact the class teacher. I would hope though that the vast majority will be able to manage with the slots available. Let's try it and see how it goes.

Can I remind you please that ear rings are not part of the school uniform. Please remove them. If needs be, the clear plastic spacers can be used. In other uniform news, Price and Buckland now stock all colours of t Shirts - I think, strangely, they didn't supply two of the colours? Anyhow - they now have them all in.

Use of SCO Pay! We're using SCOpay more and more, and that's great, or at least it is for us! We'll email the letter out to you with information, and you just grant permission, and answer the questions on SCOpay! It really is quite good!

I have bought a largish marquee for the Junior Yard to provide some shelter over the tables out there. This will be used for lessons, and lunch time. It should be here  for 13th November.... can we get a team together to help erect it with us? I'l l'll be there, but pretty useless at this sort of thing!

Teach Your Monster To Read, Reading For Fun

The makers of Teach Your Monster To Read have created a new app, Reading For Fun. We haven’t begun to use it yet in school, but wanted to let you know about it right away as this one is currently free on the Apple Store https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1512939054?mt=8 (It should be available on Android later this year)

All children from Reception to Year 2, and some of our Year 3 children, have a Teach Your Monster To Read account (details on the last page of the red Digital Resources Book) and they can sign in using the same credentials.

Both Teach Your Monster To Read and Reading For Fun can also be played for free on a desktop PC.

Have a great half term everyone, we made it, not only made it, but we made it in style.

Enjoy a song - and don't forget to do it!
