Belated Happy St Georges Day everyone!

Welcome back everyone, I hope you had a great Easter holiday, and are ready for the excitement that the new term will undoubtedly bring. It’s very strange in school how quickly you fall back into the routine of work life. As I walked around the classes this week the children are lovely—they really are an asset to the place. They looked great, worked well and genuinely seemed delighted to be back. It was lovely.

Teachers have been busy organising trips for the half term. Individual letters will be sent out this week, if they haven't already been sent, with details of events and visits being posted on the school web calendar…. Please ensure you check the web cal, or sync it to your phone for all the latest details.

Just for your information school will be much less efficient over the next week or so, Sharon, sadly is currently off sick. We wish Sharon a speedy recovery, and hope she is back with us very soon; I'll keep you posted. Thankfully Anna is working overtime in the office and Joanna, a good friend of mine, and bursar at All Saints will be with us each Thursday helping us out with the stuff no one else can do. So please, bear with us until Sharon is back - we will do out best, but we will drop the ball. Admin staff are a crucial cog in the St George's machine.

Just as a reminder, in addition to the holiday pattern for 2021 2022 please note the queen's jubilee additional holiday of 8th June 2022

School uniform.

As you know we have 2 suppliers for school uniform…. All the details can be found on the school web site. Follow this link for more information.

What an amazing tool the internet is. It allows children to open up a whole world full of exciting possibilities. They can play, learn, create and connect. It is our job as adults to ensure that our children stay safe online. There is a wealth of information out there on how to keep your child safe online but in the meantime here are a few tips that we apply both as teachers and parents.

· Ensure that your child is using the internet and indeed any kind of social media that is age related and appropriate.

· Try and ensure that computers, phones, tablets and gaming devices are used in a family area and that children are not going online unsupervised.

· Limit the amount of usage time.

· Check your child’s browsing history regularly.

· Consider having a family charging area to ensure that children are not using their devices throughout the night.

· Apply parental permissions on devices but please don’t overly rely on these. No system is 100% accurate.

The following was brought to our attention this week. It really is worth a look at—they are apps you would not want your child to have downloaded on their devices.
