Wasn't the Jubilee party fab! It was a great 2 days in school, and a lovely fresh way to start the term. The excitement and energy continues this week with Multi Faith Week - keep up to date with all the action on the facebook page. school is really alive with excitement and learning at the moment - it's a great place to be.

The fun continues in 2 weeks with STEM week -  27th June- 1st July

In school the children will be taking part in a STEM week looking at all aspects of sustainability. They will be doing a range of exciting activities across the week.

Could all children bring in one clean, unlabelled ring pull tin can the week before (20th June). This could be from soup, bean, chopped tomatoes etc. These will be stored in classrooms and used during the week for a school project. (Please wash it!)

Additionally, on Friday 1st July we will have a whole school assembly at 2:30 to finish the week and show off our work. We would like to invite parents to join us at the assembly on the MUGA to hear about and join in with the week.

Hope to see lots of you there!

PTFA News – The theme this year is “The Queen's Jubilee ” -

Monday 11th July

The PTFA pulled off a phenomenal Fair at Christmas didn't they. Every single penny raised at that Fair, went to the Pond, and Duck Project which is now complete - Thank you so much. This is something that we would have never achieved with the PTFA who raised funds for it, and then organised it - amazing. If Before half term the PTFA met again and begun planning this Fair - It should be now on the Calendar. The PTFA have decided that the funds raised this year should be part of a joint project with school to vastly improve the Junior Grounds. Together we will instal a MUGA mile track, STEM activities on the fences, and a couple of slides - the slides on the Infant Playground are a real hit. We also plan on installing some outdoor gym equipment. The complete project will probably take more fund raising than this Summer Fair, but we will certainly make a start.

We have 3 “non uniform” days , these are calendared, thanks to Simon Newell who keeps the website much more up to date than I ever did.   For those of you new to the school, we do not charge any money for the days, but ask if you would mind supplying us with bottles, any unused, or new soft toys, books, games, chocolates, toiletries, or any prizes that can be used for the tombola stall—just like we did at Christmas!

The ante has certainly been upped with The Fairs hasn't it - The PTFA have already booked Donkey rides - these will be on the infant yard, and an official Ice Cream van is booked.

On Monday 27 June we shall start selling programmes on the playgrounds… you could win £5 by having the lucky programme number.

Raffle ticket will be attached over coming weeks! Prizes to be announced… Tickets are £1 a strip, please write your name on the reverse of your strips and return to school along with the money. Further tickets can be obtained from the office.

We are always looking for new sponsors to provide a star prize for our raffles. If you, or the company you work for are able to provide a suitable prize, please contact asmith@littlekickers.co.uk who is coordinating the raffle, amongst other things!

Can you provide us with any cakes, or refreshments of any type to sell at the Fair?  These would be most gratefully received in school, on the Monday of the Fair.

And finally… if nothing else; please come to school and support the PTFA in this major fundraising event!  The fair will open at 6.00pm, and will be phenomenal. I know how hard the PTFA are working. I   look forward to seeing you there!  Let’s hope for great summer weather….

New traditions will be formed this year. Stalls will be outside, on the Junior Playground, like they were at Christmas. Refreshments in the hall; year 6 games INFANT yard, Junior Yard and MUGA. There will also be Fair Rides which will be on one of the Yards

The Entrances to the fair will be either through the junior playground, if you have a programme, through the infant playground if you are without programme, or Fountains Close – with or without a programme.

You will be able to access the school hall from the Infant or Junior Yard, cutting through school if necessary!

We will be asking for volunteers to help us set up, ticket up etc, manage stalls etc and this is another occasion when we really do rely upon your help. I will ask naomi to do this via Forms, again like we did at Christmas.

Ukulele Performance

Class 7 and 8 will be presenting their end of year Ukulele performance on the afternoon of Thursday 7th July and would like to invite parents and guardians to attend. The Concert will start at 2: 15pm in the school hall and will last approximately 45 minutes . The children will be playing and singing a selection of songs that they have been working on with Mr Woodward throughout the year and are very excited to show off everything they have learnt.  Please enter the hall through the hall side door on the junior yard from 2pm. You will then be able to collect your child on the junior yard at the end of the day as normal when they have been taken back to class and registered.

Many thanks for your continued support at home with the children and their ukuleles. I’m sure you’ll agree that all that practising at home has been worth it when you see them performing together.

Sports days

Following the huge success of pre Covid Sports days, held at Albany,  we can now return to hosting both sports days at Albany. Its great, and the kids loved it last year, and we're grateful to Albany for allowing us to go there.

Sports Days.

Weather permitting our sports days will be held on 4th July (Juniors)  and Wednesday 6h July for the Infants, in the mornings, both starting at approx. 9.30am. over at Albany High School. These dates should be on the Calendar.

Children will meet at school as usual in the mornings. School staff will escort the children to Albany, where sports day will take its usual form.

All children should come to school ready in team colour polo if they have, if not a plain T shirt of the same colour, PE shorts and pumps or trainers. They can stay in this all day so no need for uniform.

If we are lucky enough to have the sun shining please make sure that your child has had sun cream applied before school and that they are wearing a hat/cap.

Come along and support us and join in the fun!

Alas, there will be no chairs available, so either bring a blanket, bring your own garden chairs, or sit on the grass banking over at Albany. Should you require any chairs from school pop over and Ste will sort you out, and please remember, toilets are for children’s use only. Should you need the loo, you’re going to have to pop to our school. Sorry.

Dear friends,

It was wonderful to celebrate Trinity Sunday with the baptism of Anthony Costello and welcome him into the Church family. Confirmation takes place this Thursday, please be praying for all the candidates, including Anthony.

Regarding Walking Day, we will assemble in Cunliffe St. for 2pm then walk down Market Street past the Town Hall and turn left into the park and assemble on the grass by the old paddling pool where the dignitaries will give messages of thanks. Children will be dismissed back to their parents after the walk, and before the messages of thanks.

After the walk there is the opportunity to remain in the park to socialise, may be bring a picnic. Children are encouraged to wear clothes of red, white, and blue, or school uniform.

God Bless,

Mike
