From the PTA is confirmed news about the Christmas Fair.

We will have 3 non-uniform Fridays 18th (Coloured theme. See below), 25th, November and 2nd December ,  in the run up to the Christmas Fair – Following requests from the PTFA these will be a return to the traditional ‘Non Uniforms’ For families new to the school – there is no charge for the non-uniform days; but we do ask that you send in a donation please for the Christmas Fair, in exchange for your child coming to school in their own clothes.

THE FIRST NON UNIFORM DAY IS THE COLOURED THEMED ONE. Please try and send in coloured offerings that link to the class colour for the hampers! Following the success of recent years’ coloured theme hampers, each class has adopted a colour, and if possible, we would like children to bring in anything that is of their colour! This should then make really nice hampers that can be raffled off on the night of the Fair.

Although the coloured hampers are a great idea and are very successful, don’t let it add to the stresses of your daily lives….. if you can’t find anything of the particular colour, please do send in a regular donation as described above!

Your class colours are:

Class 1 & 2   Red

Class 3         Green

Class 4         Orange

Class 5         Purple

Class 6         Blue

Class 7         Silver

Class 8         Gold

Year 5          Pink

Year 6         Gold

For the following 2 Fridays (25 November & 2nd December) would you mind supplying us with bottles, clean re-useable soft toys (preferably unused ones!), books, games, chocolates, toiletries, or any prizes that can be used for the tombola stall. (I know things are tough out there - just do what you can..... don't worry if you can't. Still send your kid in non uniform..... if you can only do one donation, then only do one donation. The Christmas Fair, and Summer Fair are tremendous fundraisers, and we get loads of quality stuff from you - but I'm absolutely not the type of person, or indeed is the school the type of school -  who wants to add to your stresses - as always - just do what you can. That's all anyone can ask.

Please try to sell the raffle tickets – 4 strips per family! (Sent home after half term) Please put your name on one side of the tickets and return this side with the money to school – keeping the unsigned ticket at home for you when you collect the winning prize! Prizes to be announced…

Raffle tickets are priced at £1.00 per strip.

Leanne, Charlotte and Jackie do a stunning job in the kitchen. Only this week they were highly praised for their service, food quality and variety of food. With school meal numbers rising Leanne will be interviewing for a 4th person to work in the kitchen over the coming weeks. As a school we do support the community as much as possible, hence the reason not to increase school meal prices this year. We will probably have to next year, but for now, we can absorb the rises. Check out the winter menu here https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/catering/food-solutions/menu-types/primary-autumn-winter-22-23/ (Remember that junior children have 4 options now - including a cold packed lunch sandwich bag, with a packet of crisps, should they want that option) The school meals Leanne provides are superb, superb value, superb quality and a superb time saver at home - just pay and choose on the APP - if you haven't already, I'd defiantly give them a go.

A reminder of our end of day procedures

I am 99.99999% confident in our end of day arrangements, and I hope you are too. To make them as tight as possible we do rely on your co-operation.

Firstly, for infant parents. Staff will only dismiss children to you once they have seen the adult who is picking the child up. I know this takes time, but please bear with us. In addition, would you mind, if you are letting your child have a run around after dismissal, ensuring that they stay within the boundaries that they are used to in school. They should certainly not leave the playground, and as autumn embeds itself and the clocks go back….

Dismissal in Key Stage 2 is tight, but not as tight. Children take more ownership of the process, and find their adult. Can you please remind children, especially those new to the Juniors, that if they cannot find an adult, then they should return to the junior greenhouse area where a member of duty staff will be present.

Please keep the Junior kids close to hand as you leave the school, declying any requests to go on the MUGA as the dark nights bite....
