Greetings to our St George's Primary School community,

As we twirl into another thrilling week of learning and growing together, I am delighted to share some jubilant highlights and commendations from our marvellous school family.

Firstly, let's raise our metaphorical hats to our outstanding kids who have displayed exemplary behaviour and dedication to their work, and pride in the school. Your unwavering commitment to excellence sets a shining example for your peers and brings boundless pride to us all. Well done, you magnificent bunch!

Next, a resounding round of applause is in order for our exceptional staff members who pour their hearts and souls into nurturing the minds of our young charges. Your passion, creativity, and tireless efforts do not go unnoticed. Thank you for being the guiding lights that illuminate our educational journey.

St George's Primary School stands tall as a beacon of educational brilliance, where academic rigour dances harmoniously with a nurturing ethos. Our commitment to fostering a love of learning, values, and personal growth imbues every corner of our vibrant school community. We are not just a school; we are a family, united in our pursuit of knowledge and kindness.

As we tread the hallowed halls of our beloved school, I am reminded of a poignant film quote from "Dead Poets Society": "No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world." Indeed, here at St George's, we empower our kids to believe in the transformative power of their words and ideas, shaping a brighter tomorrow with every lesson learnt.

In the spirit of our school's ethos, I leave you with a timeless biblical quote to ponder: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." May we continue to nurture and guide our young learners with wisdom and compassion, knowing that our influence today shapes the leaders of tomorrow.

Let us embrace the coming week with open hearts and eager minds, ready to embark on another chapter of shared experiences and joy-filled learning at St George's Primary School.

FINAL CALL TO Year 5 - it needs doing

Year 5 will be taking part in bikeability during sports week. To do this you must have filled in the consent form. It was sent out with the newsletter a couple of weeks ago but we are still missing quite a few. Please click the link below so your child can participate.

Consent form (must be completed for all participants) – https://consent.bikeability.org.uk/smoke-ref-focus

Thank you

On behalf of the PTFA, may I let everyone know any orders placed for personalised tea towels, mugs, coasters and tote bags can be collected at the Summer Fair. (It may be worth bringing a carrier bag if several items have been ordered).

(Further arrangements will be made for anyone not attending the summer fair)

Absolute massive thanks to the PTFA for sorting this. Its so kind of them..... thank you. And I know i was baterously oppositional to the idea in the meetings, but Im so grateful for anything and everything you do.

As we've said on the newsletter some of the old brigade are leaving us at the end of this year - I will miss them tbh. So, if any of you would liek to help reform, and rebuild a next generation of PTFA then come and join us at the next meeting, in the new year! Don't be scared!

In any event, my thaks to everyone. Than you very much indeed.

Important Reminder: Clearing Outstanding Debts Before End of Term

As we approach the end of the academic year, it is essential to remind you about the necessity of settling any outstanding debts owed to the school. This is particularly crucial for Year 6 kids as they prepare for their transition to secondary school.

There are still outstanding balances for school meals, trips, and Wrap Around Services.  These debts significantly impact our ability to deliver essential wrap-around services effectively. If these debts remain unsettled, we will unfortunately be unable to offer these services until the outstanding balances are cleared.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can sometimes make payments challenging. If you are facing difficulties, please contact Sharon promptly to discuss a suitable arrangement. Our goal is to support all families and ensure that every child can fully benefit from the opportunities provided by the school.

Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated as we strive to provide the best possible learning environment for all our kids. We are here to support you and your child, and we encourage you to reach out if you need assistance.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for Walking Day last week! Your participation made the event truly special. While I must admit, it’s not my favourite activity, I went and found it to be an important and pleasant experience in our church school community. Our mission is to increase our numbers next year and make it an even bigger celebration. It’s not for everyone, but your involvement makes a difference, and we deeply appreciate it.

We're putting out a friendly plea for the return of any borrowed school clothing, including those elusive pairs of underwear! Reception families, your help is especially appreciated in tracking these down. If any items have made their way home, we'd love to see them back. Think of it as a mini treasure hunt – every little piece counts! Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

As we reach the end of our newsletter, it's time for a spot of fun and mystery!

Here's a riddle to tickle your brain before we bid adieu:

I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with the wind. What am I?

Ponder on this riddle until we meet again in our next edition! Keep that curiosity alive, and don't be afraid to explore the unknown. Until next time!

Warm regards,

Andy
