Welcome to this week's newsletter! We hope this message finds you well and thriving. George's has truly been phenomenal; your ongoing support empowers us to create an enriching learning environment for our children.

This week, we were privileged to receive an insightful visit from our school advisor, who was full of praise for our hard work and dedication. It is always wonderful to hear such positive feedback about the contributions each of you makes towards our collective success.

Our focus on curricular hooks has been quite impressive as well, with innovative lesson plans that captivate the kids attention and enhance their learning journey. Additionally, our Remembrance Worship held outdoors was simply lovely, providing a serene space for reflection and unity as we remembered those who have served our country, as did class 5's visitr to the Cenotaph.

As we navigate through the weeks, we draw inspiration from the quote: “Sometimes it's our role to lift people up.” This sentiment resonates beautifully with the classic nursery rhyme "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." In this timeless tale, the spider encounters various challenges – the rain washes him down time and again, yet he rises each time, demonstrating resilience and perseverance. Just like the spider, we too may face difficulties, but it is our responsibility to help elevate one another, sharing kindness and encouragement along the way. Let us remind our children that by lifting others up, we create a stronger, more supportive community.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead, Andy

As you will have seen from the email sent out to all parents, we have decided to change our lunch system so that infant children will now preorder what they would like for lunch. Can I remind all parents to preorder lunches at least a week in advance. Choices will be in place from Monday 2nd December. We are asking that you order for that week by Friday 22nd November giving us a little extra time to organise things in school (you can order the full half term if this works for you).

Instructions on how to access your Scopay account can be found on the email sent by school on Wednesday.

Class 8 Anglo-Saxon Day

On 29th November 2024, Class 8 will be taking their learning outdoors. To deepen their understanding of the historical period, the class will spend much of the day learning outdoors in our Forest School area. They will be crafting everyday tools and items, building shelters and spending time around our firepit.

As such, please ensure that on this day, your child comes in appropriate clothing that can get dirty. Wellies in a carrier bag would be ideal! At this time of year, good weather is not guaranteed so please ensure your child also has a warm, waterproof coat for the occasion.

After usual dismissal from the junior playground, feel free to explore the Forest School Area with your Class 8 child. They will be able to show you what they have been learning about!

Miss Glover is requesting donations of waterproof suits, coats and trousers for our newly formed Forest School. These essential items will help keep our young adventurers dry and comfortable as they engage with nature, learn vital skills, and create unforgettable memories. If you have any waterproof clothing that your child has outgrown and is no longer needed, please drop them off at the school office for the attention of Miss Glover.
