Welcome to this week’s newsletter!

As I sit here at Blackburn Theatre, watching the kids in the Dance Club prepare for their performance later this evening, I’m filled with pride. It’s incredible to reflect on the opportunities we give our children—experiences that truly make a difference in their lives. We are so fortunate to provide such amazing chances for growth, creativity, and learning.

Lent is well underway, and as we pause for reflection during this season, it’s a great time to think about all the positives we’ve achieved so far. From the opportunities that lie ahead to the small victories we celebrate daily—there’s so much to be thankful for.

On a lighter note, I must apologise for a small hiccup earlier this week. I logged onto Zoom for my meeting with Year 6 a day early—feeling quite pleased that no one had shown up, thinking I’d given you all peace of mind. Only later did I realise my mistake! Rest assured, I won’t be re-running the session. After speaking to many of you and the kids, I’m confident everyone is happy with the current arrangements. But, should the need arise or the vibe change, I’ll happily reschedule one.

Lastly, some exciting news for fans of Ted Lasso—Season 4 is officially confirmed! If you haven’t caught up yet, now’s the perfect time to binge-watch Seasons 1-3. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Here’s to a great final two weeks—full of progress, positivity, and continued opportunities for growth!

Andy

As we plough on through the term, lets reflect......

May remind you of a few essential communication tools available for you. Have you logged onto the web calendar yet? It’s a wonderful way to stay updated with upcoming events! Additionally, make sure you are fully equipped with the Seesaw app for all those fabulous updates and communications from our dedicated teachers. Don't forget about the SCO app, which is useful for payments and managing school dinners—keeping everything streamlined for your convenience.

As we approach the conclusion of this term, I must emphasise the importance of ensuring that all debts are cleared. This is vital for us to manage payments for food and staff, and it allows us to provide ongoing quality services for all students in the upcoming year. We cannot allow debts to carry over, so your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

In terms of supporting your child's reading progress, we encourage you to engage them in fun activities that extend their vocabulary and comprehension. Simple tips include setting aside dedicated reading time, visiting local libraries, or choosing books related to their interests. The importance of home-school collaboration cannot be overstated; working together fosters a rich learning environment for your child.

And of course, any problems, questions, quires or concerns, then lets work together

Well done to the Year 5s and 6s who took part in the Chorley SSP Dance Competition on Thursday. They have been busy practising their routine over the last few months and showed excellent teamwork and perseverance.  Not only did they show off themselves and the school, they came 2nd! What an amazing achievement. They should be very proud of all the hard work they put in!

As we draw this week’s newsletter to a close, let us take a moment to reflect on the blessings surrounding us, however subtle they may appear. In the busyness of our daily lives, it is all too easy to overlook the wealth of opportunities and relationships we cherish within our community. Let gratitude serve as our cornerstone, fostering a sense of calm amidst the chaos. With a steely determination, let us be proud of what we have achieved together, and strive to cultivate an environment where every effort is recognised and celebrated. We can ensure that this spirit of appreciation thrives continually.
