Welcome to this week’s newsletter!

Picture this…
A tall stone tower stands proudly in the heart of a city—so tall it almost touches the clouds. It doesn’t move, it doesn’t shout, it just stands… silent. But it has a message. A message louder than thunder and deeper than the sea. That column is a reminder of people who once had to fight, so that we could now live in peace.
This week, as we remember VE Day, we think back to a time when peace was not promised. When bombs fell, and families hid. When letters from loved ones were treasures, and hope was something people clung to like a blanket on a cold night.
But then, the fighting stopped. People danced in the streets. They hugged strangers. They cried tears—not of sadness, but of relief. That day, Victory in Europe Day, was the day peace returned to people's lives. And peace, folks, is worth celebrating.
Because peace means sleeping safely in your bed.
Peace means choosing crayons over conflict.
Peace means going to school to learn, laugh and play, not to hide.
The Bible tells us: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:9). And I believe every one of you has the power to be a peacemaker—in the classroom, on the playground, and in the world.
So next time you see a tall monument like that one in Liverpool, don’t just walk past it. Pause. Look up. And remember: we celebrate peace, not because war was good, but because peace is better.
Peace is precious. Peace is powerful. And peace, my friends, is worth celebrating.
