Welcome to this week’s newsletter!

There’s something quite grounding about someone from your past stepping into your present. This week, we had a visit from an advisor I worked with back when I first became a Head, over at All Saints.  He’s seen me when I was wide-eyed, winging it (tbh, I still do!), learning fast—and, let’s be honest, making a few glorious mistakes along the way (again - I still do!) . This week, he took a walk through school and waxed lyrical about the children, the staff, the curriculum, the atmosphere… the feel of the place. And I’ll admit, I felt a bit proud. Not just for me, but for us.

It got me thinking: growth isn’t always loud. It’s not a trumpet or a headline. Sometimes, it’s just showing up every day, being better than you were last week, and learning when to pedal hard and when to coast. I think the same is true for our kids. They don’t all bloom at once. Some need warmth, others shade. Some charge ahead. Others quietly stretch their roots deep until one day—boom—there they are, thriving. The last verse of the song The Rose is beautiful, and sums up growth.....

"Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose"

Its a mega song, that Im going to play whilst I write.... Some say love is like a river that drowns a tender reed

Our job is to give the kids the suns love so that when their spring comes - there's no stopping them.

There’s a lot to celebrate in this week’s newsletter—but more than that, there’s a lot to notice. Because noticing growth is part of the magic. Let's keep doing that, for ourselves and for each other.

It’s time to officially pop the news—Over the coming few months we'll actually be seeing a little more of Nic as she is expecting a baby boy!  The little lad will be making his grand entrance this autumn. Nic will be heading off on maternity leave around October, but until then, just like mummy Pig did, she’s powering through with her usual sparkle, bump and all. We’re absolutely thrilled for her

*🎉 Summer Fair is Fast Approaching! 🎉**

To get ready for the fair, we will have 3 non-uniform days on:

- Friday, 13th June

- Friday, 20th June

- Friday, 27th June

We are looking for donations of tombola items, chocolate tombola items, and prizes.

Please don't feel you have to spend a fortune. Have a look in the back of your cupboards; you might find something perfect to donate!

Thank you for your support! 🌞

PTFA News – The Summer Fair

Monday 7th July

The PTFA pulled off a phenomenal Fair at Christmas didn't they? Every single penny raised at that Fair, went to the new IPADs which are now useable, and the 3D printer, both massively beneficial.  Thank you so much. This is something that we would have never achieved with the PTFA who raised funds for it, and then organised it - amazing.

The fair is now on the Calendar. Funds this year will continue to develop the ability to teach IT in school, including buying more IPADS.

We have 3 “non uniform” days , these are calendared (now).  For those of you new to the school, we do not charge any money for the days, but ask if you would mind supplying us with bottles, any unused, or new soft toys, books, games, chocolates, toiletries, or any prizes that can be used for the tombola stall—just like we did at Christmas!

We won't be selling programmes this year, instead we will be charging £1.00 per family entrance fee, with us entering from the Junior Yard gate..

Raffle ticket will be sent over coming weeks! Prizes to be announced… Tickets are £1 a strip, please write your name on the reverse of your strips and return to school along with the money. Further tickets can be obtained from the office.

We are always looking for new sponsors to provide prizes for our raffles. If you, or the company you work for are able to provide a suitable prize, please contact me, or any member of the PTFA!

Can you provide us with any cakes, or refreshments of any type to sell at the Fair?  These would be most gratefully received in school, on the Monday of the Fair. We did struggle with this at Christmas; I think it's a tradition that struggled to reignite post Covid, but we did great at Christmas - Thank you! The cake stall previously a massive part of the Fair with all kinds of cakes sold. We really do rely on your donations here - so please, if you are able, can you do some baking please of anything - and send it in. If you can include the ingredients please that would be great, especially Nuts etc......

And finally… if nothing else; please come to school and support the PTFA in this major fundraising event!  The fair will open at 6.00pm, and will be phenomenal. I know how hard the PTFA are working. I   look forward to seeing you there!  Let’s hope for great summer weather….

Stalls will be outside, on the MUGA, like they were at Christmas. Refreshments in the hall; year 6 games will be on the MUGA and Junior Yard this year - they're going for it this year, and are trying to make more than ever

There will also be Fair Rides which will be on  the Junior Yard

The ice cream van will be on the Junior Yard

Pony rides will be on the infant yard with other exciting stalls including Face paints, Henna and Tattoos.

You will be able to access the school hall from the Infant or Junior Yard, cutting through school if necessary! Both entrances will be supervised for the 1st 30 minutes of the Fair whilst parents are admitted - £1.00 per family

We will be asking for volunteers to help us set up, ticket up etc, manage stalls etc and this is another occasion when we really do rely upon your help.

I will ask Naomi to do this via Forms, again like we did at Christmas.

W.E. 13.6.2025
Let’s take a moment to hit pause on the whirlwind and soak up the brilliance of the week just gone.

As we wrap up this week, here’s something to ponder:

And so, as another week folds itself neatly into the pages of our school story, let’s hold on to the joy, the graft, and the glittering sparks of progress we’ve seen. Success doesn’t always shout—sometimes it hums quietly in the background: a kind gesture, a brave answer, a lightbulb moment. Let’s keep noticing them, nurturing them, and championing one another as we stride on together.

As Paddington once wisely said, “If we are kind and polite, the world will be right.” Here’s to another week of being exactly that.

Take care folks, Andy
