It has been a wonderful week in school, and our children should be incredibly proud of all they have achieved. We would like to say thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our Class Call In on Thursday. It was fantastic to see so many of you in school and to witness the excitement on the children’s faces as they proudly shared their classrooms, showcased their work, and talked about everything they have been learning. We look forward to welcoming you back after half term for Parents’ Evening, when we will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s learning and progress in more detail. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership with our school.

Inflatable Obstacle

This year we will be raising money for the Bishop's Harvest Appeal. We will have an inflatable obstacle course in school on Thursday 22nd October. We are asking families to make a donation for their child to have a go on the obstacle course (£2 per child suggested). You are welcome to donate via Scopay before or send cash on the day.

Year 5 Local Walk

As part of their topic on The Industrial Revolution, Year 5 will go on a local walk on Thursday 22nd October. The children will walk from school, down Hoggs Lane to the canal, to the Yarrow Gate and back to school.

Winter Bugs and Illness

We know how important regular school attendance is, but we also recognise that there are lots of winter bugs going around at this time of year. If your child is unwell with a high temperature, sickness or diarrhoea, please keep them at home to rest and recover and to help prevent the spread of illness to others. If your child has experienced sickness or diarrhoea, they must remain off school until 48 hours after their last episode. Thank you for your support in keeping our school community healthy and well this winter.

Coffee Morning

Following the success of our last coffee morning, we are delighted to be holding another one on Friday 23rd October. Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us in the chapel after dropping their children off at school. Come along, enjoy a hot drink and a slice of cake, and have a chat with other parents and carers. We look forward to seeing you there!

Nasal Flu

The nurses will be in school on 5th November to administer nasal flu vaccinations. If you haven't already given consent and would like your child to receive the vaccination, please follow the link below. This link can also be used to decline.

Smart Watches in School

We have noticed an increasing number of children wearing smart watches in school. We would like to remind parents and carers that, in line with our current policy, any smart watches worn in school should not have the ability to make calls, send messages or take photographs. We are currently reviewing our policy on smart watches and will share any updates. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and focused learning environment for all our pupils.

Attendance - Well done!

Parking

A reminder that we ask parents and carers not to use the staff car park when dropping off or collecting children. This includes for Breakfast Club and Late Stay.

We appreciate that parking near school at busy times can be difficult, but this request is important for everyone’s safety. Children walking across the car park is not safe as staff will potentially be coming in and out of the bays. We also want to avoid parents and staff being blocked in.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

One of our parent governor's term is coming to an end. She has kindly offered to continue on the governing board but if any other parent would be interested in this position, please contact Nicola Gregson.
