A Warm Welcome to Our Newsletter

Lets important to take a moment to reflect on the vibrancy and warmth that encapsulated Bonfire Night. This annual celebration was not only a spectacle of dazzling fireworks illuminating the autumn sky but also a simile of our community coming together in joy and camaraderie. Much like school life, Bonfire Night is filled with bursts of excitement, shared experiences, and the collective flicker of curiosity - lets keep the fireworks illuminating the Autumn sky during these dark nights.

In the week that has passed, we have seen a flurry of curricular hooks gently sparking the kids, and staff interest and passion for learning. The dedication and enthusiasm demonstrated by both staff and children have made it clear that, much like after the grand finale of fireworks, the real magic occurs when kids engage deeply with the material before them. Through innovative teaching methods and interactive lessons, we are witnessing our learners develop skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to the PTFA for their unwavering commitment and industrious efforts. Their tireless work behind the scenes has played a pivotal role in enriching our school community, and we are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated team supporting our children’s educational journey - any one fancy joining this new group of people who are really batting hard for the school. They're an impressive bunch

Lastly, as we navigate through our shared journeys, we are reminded of Philippians 4:13: “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” This verse epitomises the spirit of perseverance and community that forms our church school's foundation. Together, we are poised to face any challenge, like a bonfire that, despite the wind, remains steadfast and bright.

Thank you for being part of our vibrant school community. We look forward to sharing more delightful updates with you in our newsletter!

Supervision of Children in the Mornings

As we strive to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our children, and to ensure a smooth start to the day for all, we would like to remind parents and guardians about the supervision procedures in place during the mornings. Children are welcome to play on the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) before school starts; however, it is imperative that they are accompanied by a parent or guardian during this time.

We understand that mornings can often be busy, which is why we offer a Breakfast Club for parents who require school care before 8.45am. This club provides a safe environment where children can be cared for, enabling parents to manage their morning routines with added peace of mind.

Please note that there is no supervision provided by school staff until 8.45am, so it is essential that, if your child arrives at school before this time, they are under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian. We highly encourage all families to consider the Breakfast Club as a reliable option for morning care if you are unable to supervise your children until we open the school doors.

And thanks to all those parents who safely make use of this facility.... its good to use. Its good for kids to run around - but they do need supervsing.

Details for the fencing club are within the Calendar. They are duplicated here for Junior kids to sign up if you wish.

We are still on the hunt for raffle prizes for this years Christmas fair

Does anyone know anybody who could donate our star prize? We are extremely lucky that the same companies support us every year, and we are on the lookout for anybody else who can support our fundraising. We are only a small team on the PTA and any help would be gratefully received. Also if anybody would like to join us at the yarrow bridge on the 13th November at 7pm to meet us all you will be warmly welcomed, any help big or small will be fantastic for school. Thank you.

NEWS FROM THE PTFA - It;s a new bunch, they're doing great! They'd always appreciate new members who can help us out!

Hello everyone ....

The PTFA are in the middle of organising another fabulous Christmas Fair. We are hoping to have a variety of stalls to create a mini Christmas market vibe where people can buy gifts / decorations for Christmas. Of course this won't be possible without some lovely stall holders ....

If you or anybody you know sells or makes gifts / Christmas decorations / wreaths / anything you think would be suitable for a school fair then please consider having a stall at the St George's Christmas Fair. We would love to have you 🙂

The cost of a stall is £10 plus a raffle prize.

If you are interested or have any questions, please email or message me directly - laurenjade94@hotmail.co.uk / 07419166866.

Thanks so much

Christmas Fair.... planning continues
Christmas Fair Planning.

We will have 3 non-uniform Fridays which are on the calendar in the run up to the Christmas Fair – There is no charge for the non-uniform days; but we do ask that you send in a donation please for the Christmas Fair, in exchange for your child coming to school in their own clothes. Further details are in the link above

THE FIRST NON UNIFORM DAY IS THE COLOURED THEMED ONE. Please try and send in coloured offerings that link to the class colour for the hampers! Following the success of recent years’ coloured theme hampers, each year group has adopted a colour, and if possible, we would like children to bring in anything that is of their colour! This should then make really nice hampers that can be raffled off on the night of the Fair.

Although the coloured hampers are a great idea and are very successful, don’t let it add to the stresses of your daily lives….. if you can’t find anything of the particular colour, please do send in a regular donation as described above!

Your colours are found in the link above.

For the following 2 Fridays would you mind supplying us with bottles, clean re-useable soft toys (preferably unused ones!), books, games, chocolates, toiletries, or any prizes that can be used for the tombola stall. (I know things are tough out there - just do what you can..... don't worry if you can't. Still send your kid in non uniform..... if you can only do one donation, then only do one donation. The Christmas Fair, and Summer Fair are tremendous fundraisers, and we get loads of quality stuff from you - but I'm absolutely not the type of person, or indeed is the school the type of school -  who wants to add to your stresses - as always - just do what you can. That's all anyone can ask.

Please try to sell the raffle tickets, probably sent out next week – 1 book per family!  Please fill in the details on left hand side of the tickets and return this side with the money to school – keeping the right hand side of ticket at home for you when you collect the winning prize! Prizes to be announced…

Raffle tickets are priced at £1.00 per ticket £5 per book, and will be sent home next week. Please return unsold raffle tickets/books

If you shop through EasyFundraising for St George's. Look out for Black Friday Deals, you could raise extra cash for School.

If you don't already, please consider signing up, it's so easy to shop and raise cash at the same time. Thank you! 😊

In other news as we prepare for the Fair

Cakes. Please Please Please = Let's do this!

On the morning of the Fair can as many people as possible send in cakes for us to sell please? We'd love to re kindle the lovely cake stall of old! Hope you can help here. That would be amazing, and thank you.

Location of stalls. The PTFA have organised a wonderful Fair - it should be amazingly gorgeous. You will enter the fair through the junior yard and i'll give more details on location next Friday.

Refreshments, drinks, chips and hot dogs, will be served from the kitchen, as will mulled wine, tea and coffee.

Santa will be in the stable - the hut outside class 4. Class 4 will be where you wait to see Santa.

Reindeers will be on the small slope, heading towards the MUGA. (Where they were last year)

Please don't forget to bake

Please don't forget to come to the fair

Please don't for we are a cash only fair - change welcome - money very welcome!

And can I pass on heartfelt thanks to all who have help prepared the fair - the PTFA who have worked tirelessly, and also a thank you to those of you who have offered to help come and help set up on the day of the fair - don't worry - full training will be given. Thank you all so very much indeed - as I say many times, we are so much stronger together, and together we can achieve great things.

Christmas Productions

Year 1 - Friday 13th Dec - 2:30pm - Christmas Carols and Mince Pies in the school hall

Year 2 - Wednesday 11th Dec - 2:00pm - Christmas Nativity Play in the school hall

Year 3, 4 and 6 - Tuesday 17th Dec - 7:00pm - KS2 Christmas Nativity at St George's Church. Year 3, 4 and 6 children will be part of the choir for the production, and do not have a speaking part. Please let your class teacher know, by email, if your child cannot attend so we know who to expect on the night.

Year 5 - Tuesday 17th Dec - 7:00pm - KS2 Christmas Nativity at St George's Church. Year 5 lead the performance in church - it promises to be a very special twinkly night!

All the very best,

Andy
