Happy Mothering Sunday.
Dear friends,
Happy Mothering Sunday. I hope you are treating your mothers today and, indeed, all the ladies in your lives.

A personal announcement: Bishop Philip has asked me to take on a diocesan role taking a lead on organising the training and sabbaticals for clergy of our diocese beginning in the summer. Whilst this is a part time role, leading the parish of St George’s & All Saints’ most certainly is not. I have therefore accepted the offer to become the parish priest of a smaller parish near Whalley, alongside this diocesan role, and will therefore be leaving, with my last Sunday being The Feast of the Holy Trinity on 15th June. This gives us sufficient time to organise ourselves and say goodbye properly. One of the significant reasons why I felt able to accept this post was because of the strong team which leads our parish. Not only Frs Jordan and Peter, but also the many capable lay-people in both churches including, but not limited to, the PCC. Please do be praying for all of those in leadership across our parish. The Bishop of Burnley will license me on Thursday 10th July at 7.30pm at St Leonards Church, Langho to which everyone is welcome.
God bless,
Fr Mike
