16.12.2023 League Tables

I am thrilled to share some wonderful news with all of you.

The St George's triangle of parents, staff and kids, working together, have achieved an outstanding accomplishment in the league tables. It is with great humility that I congratulate our dedicated staff for their unwavering commitment to our students' education. Just like in the football league, consistency is key, and our team has demonstrated remarkable consistency by securing the second place out of all the Primary SChool in the Parliamentory Constiuencey of Chorley. This achievement is a testament to hard work and dedication.

It's important to note that league tables, despite their faults, much like the football league, reflect our schools' continuous efforts throughout the years. In contrast, inspections by OFSTED, despite ours going well,  can be likened to the FA Cup, providing only a snapshot of our schools at a single point in time. As we all know, even Wigan Athletic won the FA Cup once! This perspective reminds us to remain humble and acknowledge that excellence is a journey, not a single moment of glory. We are proud of this achievement, but we remain committed to our ongoing mission of providing the best possible education for our students. We just do our best day in day out - rarely, if ever perfect, but we always do our best, and as one parent told the recently visitingteam from OFSTED, " they don't always get it right, but when they get it wrong, they put it right" And I would concur with this view.

Thank you to our incredible staff, supportive parents, and mega kids for making this achievement possible. Let's continue working together to ensure our school remain beacons of learning, growth and happiness in our community.

With gratitude and humility,

Andy
