Class 5 enjoyed a lovely afternoon walk to the Astley Park War Memorial. The children held a 2 minutes silence, laid our class wreath, read out their own personal letters to the soldiers who have served for us and they also collectively read the poem In Flanders Field by John McCrae. We read through the names of fallen soldiers from Chorley and some of the children found soldiers with the same family name as them and we even found a relative. The children were amazing, respectful and compassionate. Well done Class 5!
