Advent is all about Joy, happiness, fun, preparation, contentment, happiness. It is a time of expectation, of awe and wonder. Its a time where we turn lights on, and were we are proud of what we've achieved. So is St George's - and indeed primary education everywhere, or at least I hope it is.

Class 5 have been working hard on their independent write, using all the success criteria they have been practising during our Fairy tales unit to create their own fabulous stories with a twist 😊 Class 5 also  thoroughly enjoyed our yoga session this afternoon 🧘‍♀️ Especially using our bodies to make Christmas objects like candy canes , presents 🎁 and snowmen ⛄️

Class 7 have been replying to the letters we have received from a school in De Pere, Wisconsin, as one of our community links. It was great to see the children answering questions they were asked and asking questions back. The children also made a Christmas card to post too.

Class 7 have also been delving deep into History. Richard from The History Squad has been sharing his knowledge, artefacts and passion with us on the Romans. The children have learned about Emperor Claudius and the invasion on Brittania, life in the Roman army (including trying on armour, holding a scutum (shield) and gladius (sword) and the importance of a formation in battle.) Roman games have been made and played in addition to holding artefacts. A fantastic start to our History topic!

Class 4 received an exciting parcel and craft from Pip the penguin. The mystery craft turned out to be angels. Can you guess which story Pip sent us?

Year 6 (C11 & C12) went up to Fountains Close and the surrounding streets behind school to post our handmade invitations to our carol sing🎄

Please feel free to join Year 6 for a sing along on Thursday 21st December @ 2pm on the corner of Fountains Close and Tintern Avenue!!
